Plant health and biosecurity: The basis for world’s food production and our well-being

The Molecular Plant Virology Lab at the Chonnam National University of Korea is covering both basic and applied research in plant virology for plant health.

• The basic research theme in our lab is to elucidate how plants defend themselves against virus infections through the study of molecular virus-plant interactions with a pathosystem, turnip crinkle virus-Arabidopsis.

• The applied/field research themes in our lab are virome analysis through metagenomics, development of diagnosis system for plant viruses with new techniques, and development of environment-friendly antiviral agents.
